Within a 15-minute drive from De Thijmse Berg, you will find the national park De Hoge Veluwe. This is a park with a special history and international fame. Definitely worth a visit, as the park has something for everyone. De Hoge Veluwe offers lots of flora and fauna, as well as three museums.
The nice thing is that visitors can explore the park with 'white bikes'. These can be used at no extra cost.
The nature of the Hoge Veluwe National Park is impressive to say the least. Beautiful landscapes alternate in the park: vast moors and grassy plains merge into a shifting sand landscape and deciduous and coniferous forests. These landscapes are home to a great diversity of plant and animal species. From the rare fritillary to the imposing red deer, from the gentian blue to the lesser bark beetle; they can all be found on the Veluwe.
